Yes the use of good supplements plays a massive part, but at the end of the day, its what we eat that builds the foundation for our strength, energy and muscle growth.

Our First Purchase

We decided to check out Muscle Food and placed a small order just to see how it all worked:

Ordering is simple, the site is very much like a regular supermarket online store, there are sections for each food type.

If You prefer, you can also choose from predetermined bundles that provide a mix of products to suit all tastes.

We went for:

5kg of premium Chicken breasts – £25.00

1 pack of 2 x  7oz Sirloin Steaks – £8.55

1 pack 500g Lean Steak Mince – £3.95

1 pack 4 x 4ox Burgers – well you have got to haven’t you!! – £5.00photo-1

Ordering was quick and simple, you get to choose a delivery date and leave any delivery instructions at checkout.

Although you enter your card details at checkout, muscle food do not take the payment until the day of dispatch, this means that you can order in advance, and have the option to change the order right up to day of dispatch.

We received an email the day before dispatch confirming the order and just reminding us that the payment was due.

images-2Packaging

The way that the order was packed impressed us, it was held within a sturdy cardboard box, that within was lined with insulation and ice blocks – Muscle Food tell us that this system keeps the meats at the required chilled temperature for at least 72 hours. – A godsend if delivery is left while you are out or at work.

On unpacking the box we were really happy with the packaging, all the meats were well packed and really well chilled, all we needed to do was to open the box of chicken breasts and split them into freezer bags so we can remove and defrost as requiredimages-3

Value For Money

The meats are really great value, taking the 5 kg of chicken breasts as an example, you get 25 of them and they are truly massive – bigger than we have ever bought in a supermarket.

Price wise these breasts work out at £1 each, or £5 for a Kg.

Our local Tesco charges £14 per kg for chicken breasts (and believe me they do not measure up to the ones that we just bought from Muscle Foods), and Sainsburies is only a bit cheaper at £12.99 per kg

Our Thoughts

If you have a freezer and you want to eat fantastic meats and other foods that are extra lean and packed with protein and do not want to pay the high prices charged by so many supermarkets then Muscle Foods are definitely worth a try.
